Barrier envelopes act as a protective shield for your dental phosphor plates. Encasing each plate individually, they protect not only your PSP from damage, but also your patients from contamination. When you use barrier envelopes, you can reuse the plates anywhere from 50 to 200 times.
Our Safe n Sure barrier envelopes come in numerous quantities to suit the needs of your entire patient load. To accommodate the various mouth sizes of patients (from children to adults), they arrive in sizes 1, 2, and 3, all with rounded edges. Compatible with most if not all imaging processing equipment, they’re easy to use and allow for quick and safe processing.
How to Open Barrier Envelopes:
Barrier envelopes are practical and straightforward. First, insert your dental imaging plate inside the barrier envelope with the logo facing the plastic side (so that you can view the label from the outside). Then peel off the sticky part and seal the envelope. The peel and stick closure will not compromise the dental image.
How to Use Barrier Envelopes Correctly:
Before extracting an imaging plate from a barrier envelope, make sure no one has mishandled or damaged the seal. When you take an x-ray image with the plate, first open the barrier envelope with gloves and then drop the plate, active side down, into the transfer box. Any handling of phosphor dental images should be done only in a sterilized environment.
